You might be asking yourself what the Mayan Calendar has to do with your business or in our case, testing seeds, grapevines and other agricultural products. No worries, I don’t think the end of the world will come in 2012 as overly superstitious people might, but I do think that as a business leader, you have to be thinking at least this far in the future or risk having your small part of the world end! The next few years will bring a lot of change to agriculture and though sometimes this change can feel like the end of world, it really is just an opportunity to improve our services to our customers!

The Mayan’s like most ancient civilizations found a way of marking time to predict changes that would affect their survival and destinies. It is no different in today’s world—only in today’s world we have masses of information at our fingertips and we are constantly marking time on our Outlook or Blackberries! Survival in today’s world is all about filtering information to predict changes and understand what lies ahead.
