Community Involvement

Sidebar Image

We believe it's important to be good corporate citizens and help to make our communities a better place to live. Some of our community involvement initiatives include:

United Way of Lancaster County
We are proud to partner with the United Way in order to build a stronger Lancaster County by mobilizing the caring power of our community and hope to be a catalyst to improve lives. Employees are given the opportunity to raise money through special fundraising events or by pledge form donation (of which, a portion is matched by Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, Inc.). For more information, visit www.uwlanc.org.

Lancaster County STEM Alliance Summer Externship 2019
Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories joined forces with the Lancaster County STEM Alliance to hold a three-day educational opportunity for 50 teachers, helping them better prepare students for the workforce. During the STEM Teacher Externship August 6-8, teachers experienced hands-on laboratory testing, engaged with the company’s top biopharmaceutical and environmental scientists, and gained valuable tangible industry knowledge to share with their students. Read more from our press release, LancasterOnline article, or view a video of the event.

Employees also have the opportunity to volunteer in two initiatives sponsored by Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories:

Science Volunteers
In 1997, we began a volunteer program to interest students in science, using the slogan, "If you love science, pass it on." Through this program, employees have tutored inner-city school students, led lab tours, spoken at career days, given science magic shows and science-related presentations, sponsored a "Chemistry Olympics," and hosted on-site shadowing experiences.

Community Heroes
Since 2000, our senior management has challenged employees to perform one volunteer activity a year as a team to help our communities. Our Community Heroes projects have involved hundreds of employees and have included a variety of projects that have enriched peoples’ lives, improved neighborhoods and provided assistance in crisis situations.

In 2006, all employees came together to finance and build two Habitat for Humanity "Homes in a Box" for shipment to Gulf Coast hurricane victims.

Student Shadowing

*Following current CDC guidelines and restrictions, student shadowing is currently unavailable. We will offer student shadowing again once restrictions have been lifted.

As an initiative to encourage education and career choices in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields, Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, Inc. runs a program in which middle/high school and college students are able to shadow an employee for a day. This allows the student to learn about possible career paths for science degrees.

We have many opportunities for students to learn about careers and gain valuable experience! We have both Pharmaceutical and Environmental departments. Click here to learn more.
