Technical Support Representative

Description
The Technical Support Representative’s role is to support Eurofins customers with pre and post-order inquiries, ordering support, and assay-specific troubleshooting inquiries. Representative will also assist in Gene Synthesis laboratory as needed. This position will be primarily supporting our Gene Synthesis customers but the employee will also be responsible for cross-training on all other product lines. The majority of customer contact is via phone and email and requires an individual with professional communication abilities. The employee must also have a strong drive for continual education in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and enjoy working directly with customers daily.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage outgoing and incoming customer calls and email requests
- Offer value-added customer support by assisting customers with Synthetic approaches, Codon Optimization, Cloning, Gene Expression, Protein Expression, DNA sequence analysis
- Occasional wet lab work as needed
- Filter information to Marketing and Inside Sales teams about current market trends or inquiries
- Coordinate special and/or trouble orders with production staff
- Guide Customer Service and Sales teams with custom inquiries
- Offer sales support to close opportunities
- Daily update of CRM database
- Troubleshoot customer inquiries and act as a liaison between production and customer support environments
- Use multiple databases and software to perform job
Requirements:
- Combined education and work experience will be considered: PhD, Master +2 years, Bachelor +6 years
- Extensive experience in molecular biology, cloning, protein expression and DNA sequence analysis
- Proactive and solution oriented with a great attitude
- 2+ years’ experience in customer supporting role
- Must be able to present complicated scientific data in a logical manner
- Must possess excellent time management, organizational and troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines and quotas
