Manufactured Gas Plant

Examples of remediation projects include the clean-up of former manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites in which perimeter air monitoring is required to measure chemicals released during soil of excavation and removal. The chemicals of concern are primarily BTEX and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) as well as Particulate Matter (PM). During the course of the remediation project, air monitoring is required continuously, generating a large number of EPA TO-15, TO-13A, and PM10 filter samples. Eurofins Air Toxics maintains a large media inventory to consistently supply the field team with required equipment. Each canister and flow controller goes through multiple quality checks to insure the media is properly functioning before leaving the laboratory. Our operational capacity and quality systems insure that the project objectives are consistently met throughout the entire program.

Active landfill facilities and industries such as petroleum refineries may have ambient air monitoring requirements from the local or state agencies. Eurofins Air Toxics provides TO-15 analysis to meet the specific compound list and reporting limits required for these programs. Specific to the petroleum industry, Eurofins Air Toxics has developed a TO-15 product designed to measure nearly 170 calibrated VOC from Ethylene to Undecane with reporting limits typically less than 0.5 ppbv.
