AOAC Stakeholder Program on Infant Formula and Adult Nutritionals (SPIFAN)

Eurofins Food Chemistry Testing (Madison, WI) is excited to announce the AOAC Stakeholder Program on Infant Formula and Adult Nutritionals (SPIFAN) has granted First Action Status for the method “Analysis of 6 Human Milk Oligosaccharides in Infant Formula and Adult Nutritionals by 2AB Labeling and Quantification with HILIC-FLD”.

Eurofins Food Chemistry Testing is the first and only laboratory (at the time of this publication) to have a method that has been granted First Action Status for HMOs.  This method is also the first method capable of measuring up to 6 of the 7 HMOs the AOAC SPIFAN committee has developed Standard Method Performance Requirements (SMPR). 

This method has demonstrated the analysis capability for HMOs the infant formula industry has required to meet the necessary quality standards for existing products and new products that begin to include different mixtures of these HMOs.
