What is genomic selection?

Genomic selection is a form of MAS that simultaneously considers the effect of all markers in the whole genome to calculate the Genomic Estimate of Breeding Value (GEBV). Genomic selection will change the purpose of phenotyping in plant breeding and will produce a rapid gain in breeding value with minimum input (cost, labor, space, time).
