Eurofins Eaton Analytical Supports Water for People
Several years ago, Eurofins Eaton Analytical (EEA) established a new charitable donation program for Water for People, a charitable foundation whose mission is to expand the availability of safe water throughout the world.
Water for People, established in 1991, was born out of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the largest nonprofit, scientific, and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water. In the early 1980s, Ken Miller, with CH2M and a former president of AWWA; Wayne Weiss, with Black & Veatch; and John B. Mannion, a former executive director of AWWA, shared the vision of a world where all people have access to safe water and adequate sanitation. The three joined forces to support Water For People’s creation and future as a leader in social responsibility and innovation in the sector.
In 2014, EEA began creating bobble heads of important or interesting people in the water industry and raffling them (or soliciting bids in an auction format) at the Water Quality Technology Conference each year. Beginning with a single bobble head of Dr. Andy Eaton, the Vice President and Technical Director of EEA, the “bobble head nation” now includes 10 luminaries from the industry, including the first woman president of the AWWA and multiple AP Black award winners. The Eurofins Eaton Analytical bobble head auctions have raised nearly $10,000 for Water for People.
