The standard specification for diesel fuel is ASTM D975. This specification covers seven grades of diesel fuel oils suitable for various types of diesel engines. Their defining characteristics are summarized in the chart below.

ASTM D975 is comprised of 13 tests. These tests define the required properties of the diesel fuel at the time and place of delivery.

Modified ASTM D975 Certification Test Package for Diesel Fuel

If strict compliance is unnecessary or cost-prohibitive, we also offer a modified version of the Certification Test Package designed to meet the key specifications of ASTM D975 at a greatly reduced cost. This cost reduction is achieved by not performing the five least mission-critical tests: Copper Strip Corrosion, Cetane Number, Carbon Residue, Lubricity and Electrical Conductivity. This package also enables producers and end-users to evaluate their fuel for sale or use.
