The Global Retail and Manufacturer Alliance (GRMA)

Ensuring consumer safety and regulatory compliance is a constant and key requirement of retailers and manufacturers of food, cosmetics, and health products. The audit burden often falls on suppliers and manufacturers which sometimes have to handle several dozens of audits each year. Trying to address this complexity, several retailers, manufacturers, key industry associations, and regulatory bodies have united in order to form the Global Retailer and Manufacturing Alliance (GRMA) in 2014.

GRMA’s aim is to enhance consistency and harmonization across the dietary supplements, cosmetics, and OTC drugs industries’ quality management systems. For this, the alliance brings under one unique standard, the requirements of top retailers, manufacturers, and industry associations in order to create its own certification program, using a single, publicly accredited GMP standard, which covers three health and wellness product categories which are:

• Dietary food supplements
• Over-the-counter drugs
• Cosmetics, personal care, health & beauty aids
