Military

Your industry, our focus

We help you navigate stringent military standards to ensure the performance, quality, and reliability of your equipment and subsystems for efficient market access.

With over 25 years of MIL-STD testing experience, we evaluate your equipment and subsystems to extreme environmental and electromagnetic conditions.

Safety and reliability are paramount in the military industry as military contractors, sub-contractors, equipment manufacturers, and the defense supply chain face stringent regulation in performance, quality, and reliability. Equipment must demonstrate reliability during all test phases and more importantly, in the battlefield, where it counts.

With over 25 years of MIL-STD testing experience, we evaluate your equipment and subsystems to extreme environmental and electromagnetic conditions to ensure the environmental hardiness, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and mission readiness of your equipment.

Military contractors worldwide are sensitive to costs, design cycles, and performance. Equipment is vigorously challenged to meet stringent MIL-STD specifications to endure the harsh environmental and electrical requirements of today’s battlefields. Our end-to-end testing capabilities, expert engineers, and single-source testing solutions help you meet demanding time-to-market needs and avoid costly design errors. From climatic and dynamic environments to electrical conditions, our streamlined testing process utilizes the latest technology and automation software to bring your product from development to end use efficiently in accordance with your compliance needs for any mission profile.

Why Eurofins E&E North America?

Eurofins E&E has been performing military EMC testing for more than 30 years. Our management and testing staff have worked on hundreds of projects for many of the largest military contractors in the world. We know what the U.S. DoD expects from test procedures and reports. We have honed our military EMC testing process to provide high quality service.

MET has extensive military EMC testing capabilities. We offer all test methods to all test levels for MIL-STD-461. Military EMC testing is offered at three locations, Baltimore, MD, Santa Clara, CA, and Austin, TX. We have separate and specifically designed chambers, test areas, and trained staff, reserved to support military EMC testing. Unique capabilities include 200V/m radiated susceptibility, 50,000 V/m electromagnetic pulse (RS105), indirect lightning, shielding effectiveness, power quality (MIL-STD-704, 1275, 1399-300), 1,600+ A/m DC magnetic susceptibility with 2 meter diameter Helmholtz coils (1399-070), and the ability to accommodate large and heavy equipment under test.

MET provides military contractors with excellent customer service by acting as a partner in the pre-testing and final testing stages of the design process. We understand how to follow standard or tailored test methods and offer to create test procedures. MET does what it takes to accommodate test schedules. We pull our resources from the other groups, labs, and locations, and work multiple shifts, overtime, and weekends to meet the needs of the project. As a commercial test lab, there are no lengthy security processes to delay lead times and we can offer a quotation for testing within 2 days of receipt of requests.

What is Military Testing?

Military testing entails verification of equipment performance using the stringent standards, specifications, and requirements developed by the U.S. Military.

The goal is to ensure that equipment will survive rugged environments and effectively integrate with existing military systems.

Obtaining compliance is one step in the process for manufacturers to sell their products to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and other United States Military procurement agencies.

Examples of a few common military standards include:

  • MIL-STD-461G
  • MIL-STD-810G
  • MIL-STD-202
