Eurofins Testing for Life – Supporting the Fight against Coronavirus

Our mission at Eurofins is Testing for Life.  Never is this more true than today, as we put our full energy and commitment towards supporting the fight against this global pandemic. We are a community of people including scientists and entrepreneurs, who are banded together to provide excellence in scientific innovation and service. As the world faces the challenges of COVID-19, at Eurofins we are ever mindful of our vision, and the race to bring all of our resources to bear on the saving of lives during this crisis.

Eurofins is now offering testing for detection of SARS-CoV-2 in a growing number of countries around the world. Global capacity is increasing daily as Eurofins teams are working round the clock to deliver results in very short turnaround times and often within 24 hours. In each geography, Eurofins laboratories are working closely with public health authorities and following their priorities to support hospitals and medical professionals fighting this unprecedented health crisis.

In addition Eurofins has developed antibody testing so those who may have been sick, but could not be tested can determine if they already have antibodies as a result of exposure to COVID-19 and health authorities can evaluate population exposure through serosurveys to inform their policies. This is anticipated to help mitigate the future spread of the virus, and provide critical information to communities as they manage through this pandemic.     

We have also created surface testing to help hospitals and other areas contaminated with COVID-19 to ensure they are clear of the virus.  And are working hard to multiply efforts by developing test kits that can be used by others having an even greater impact.

Besides testing for the virus, there are many areas where Eurofins is directly supporting the front line. These include emergency testing of medical devices (respirators), testing of antivirals and support of vaccine development, testing the safety of masks used by health care workers or working to secure the continued supply of critical infrastructure and essential services such as continued safe drinking water, essential pharmaceutical products, medical devices and important chemical products and the safe food, beverages and agricultural products sold on supermarket shelves, among many others.

In combination, once fully in place we anticipate developing capacity to help over 20 million patients monthly who may have been impacted by this pandemic with our testing products and our services.

We are humbled and honored to support patients and those healthcare professionals who are working tirelessly to care for those in greatest need due to the challenges of COVID-19. 

We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy for those impacted by the virus, and gratitude for the selfless healthcare heroes at the front lines of this terrible pandemic.  We are in awe of your sacrifices and compassion and are motivated and honored to rise up to this challenge to provide support to you and your patients, with the ongoing goal of making a positive contribution.
