Roadmap to Eurofins Product Certification for Dietary Supplements and Functional Food

Sidebar Image

Product certification plays a vital role in minimizing the potential risks of adulteration, contamination, and other quality issues in your product. Eurofins Food Chemistry Testing, Madison and Eurofins Assurance offer product certifications designed to safeguard the quality of dietary supplements, ingredients and food. Follow the steps below to earn the Eurofins Assurance Mark for your product.

STAGE 1: PROPOSAL SIGNED

Once we receive your signed quotation and proposal, our team begins preparing for your product audit. Within 24 hours, a dedicated Client Service Representative is assigned as your primary contact for account setup, sample receipt, testing, and invoicing.

STAGE 2: APPLICATION PACKET SUBMISSION

Your completed application packet is reviewed and shared with a Program Coordinator, who manages communications with your manufacturing facilities.

STAGE 3: INITIAL PRODUCT AUDIT

After all product information is received, our Quality Specialists review them against standard requirements and validate a product evaluation plan.

STAGE 4: TESTING COORDINATION

If testing is required, your Program Coordinator arranges for samples from participating facilities. Our EFCT Madison lab analyzes them for label claims, contaminants, and product specifications.

STAGE 5: EVALUATION SUMMARY

Test results are reviewed by a Certification Quality Specialist, who prepares a summary outlining compliance for each tested claim. Any non-conformities are noted with recommended paths to resolution.

STAGE 6: CERTIFICATION DECISION

After receiving the Evaluation Summary, the Eurofins Program Coordinator will include it in the Application Packet and proceed with Certification Decision, reviewing all collecting information required to make a formal decision to grant, deny or request additional information to the product.

STAGE 7: CORRECTIVE ACTIONS

If non-conformities are found, you develop and implement corrective actions within 30 days. Our team is available to discuss concerns and support timely resolution.

STAGE 8: PRODUCT LISTING

If approved, we review the audit report, verify corrective actions, and award certification. You receive your final report and certificate, typically within 50 days*.

STAGE 9: ONGOING SURVEILLANCE & RENEWAL

To maintain certification, annual monitoring of product compliance is maintained through testing and a product manufacturing audit. At the start of each year, we coordinate with your facilities to schedule and conduct these activities.

*Processing times will vary depending on the certification scheme.
