Environmental Lead Rule for Dust Hazard Standards and Post Abatement Clearance Levels

Lead hazards in the built environment continue to challenge public health regulators, childhood medical investigators, building owners and engineers, and remediation and consultants every day. Good News – the US CDC’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) shows falling childhood blood lead levels. Bad News – the challenge to meet post remediation clearance levels continues. This webinar will look at the pivotal moments in USEPA environmental lead hazard control and management and the ever-tightening laboratory requirements to provide compliance with the new clearance levels. We will also discuss the Current Lead Dust Clearance Levels, changing definitions of environmental lead hazards, and laboratory quality requirements and the direction of technology going forward to meet these challenges.

In addition, we will explore some nuances associated with sample collection and laboratory procedures as well as address questions posed over the years from building engineers, lead consultants, and the environmental and occupational health and safety professionals.
