Some projects require the creation of elutriates, leachate or eluates, and the subsequent analysis of these laboratory created matrices, to evaluate the potential release or the mobility of analytes from various solid materials. These materials can include sediment, soil, stabilized material and waste material. Column settling tests can be used to define the settling behavior of particular sediments associated with the potential placement of dredged material.
