Why are Waste and Debris Samples Difficult to Analyze?

First, it is often difficult to obtain a representative subsample during the sampling and analysis process that is representative of the entire building or site.  To remedy this, Eurofins Environment Testing personnel work with the project team to understand the material we are working with, and gain special instructions on creating a representative sample for subsequent analysis.  Sample processing steps may include layering, grinding and/or mixing of these non-standard environmental matrices to ensure a representative sample is utilized for the analysis.  Second, these matrices may require the use of specialized or modified extraction procedures and the use of organic extract cleanup techniques to remove non-target analytes. Our analysts undergo rigorous training programs to recognize these circumstances, and our team members work with your Project Team to determine the best course of action to achieve your project goals and objectives.

How Can Eurofins Environment Testing Help You?

During the evaluation of decommissioning assets, Eurofins Environment Testing provides comprehensive environmental testing of building material and debris for constituents of potential concern associated with hazardous material identification and abatement.  This includes the analysis of PCBs in a wide variety of matrices including ambient air, asbestos containing material, lead based paint, and waste characterization for hazardous material identification.

Eurofins Environment Testing also supports Environmental Site Assessments that evaluate the potential historical impacts of constituents of potential concern from past discharges at the facility on the soil, groundwater, or sediment.
