Understanding and Implementing a Food Safety Management System
This ISO based scheme was created to fill the global need for a Food Safety Standard for those already certified and operating under ISO 22000 principles and its constituents. FSSC 22000, or Food Safety System Certification 22000, is a GFSI benchmarked food safety standard built for numerous industries including food, feed and packaging. Together with ISO 22000 requirements, its respective industry prerequisite programs and a small number of additional scheme requirements the FSSC 22000 scheme is becoming an increasingly popular choice for companies to gain GFSI recognition.
Following an overview of HACCP and basic food safety management, this course will explore the FSSC 22000 scheme requirements including its history, the corresponding ISO components, food safety management system implementation strategies and the overall certification process.
